I work night shifts and I’m trying to figure out how to manage my aligner routine when my eating and sleeping patterns aren’t typical. Does anyone else have experience with aligners while working nights? How do you keep up with the cleaning and wearing schedule when your routine is upside down?
I also work nights and it was a challenge at first. What works for me is setting alarms on my phone to remind me when to wear and when to remove my aligners, especially since my meal times are not at the usual hours. I keep a dental care kit in my locker at work so I can brush and clean the aligners during my breaks. It’s all about creating a routine that fits into your night shift lifestyle.
Night shift nurse here. I always rinse with water after any meal or snack to keep my aligners clean until I have a chance to do a thorough brushing. Since our breaks can be unpredictable, I find that keeping hydrated helps a lot to avoid dry mouth and keep my aligners feeling fresh.
